Manchester United players and staff returned to Carrington on Monday morning to start their preparations for the 2024/25 campaign.

The Reds have their opening pre-season fixture in just over a week against Rosenberg and Erik ten Hag’s side have returned to action after their holidays.

Ten Hag, who signed an extension at Old Trafford last week, was joined by new first-team coaches Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake. They are awaiting work permits to start their roles officially.

Those who were not competing at international tournaments this summer were expected to return to action at Carrington on Monday.

Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire were among the most notable returnees, with neither player competing with England at Euro 2024 this summer.

Meanwhile, the likes of Antony, Casemiro and Victor Lindelöf all reported for duty while their futures at the club remain in doubt.

Amad Diallo and Mason Mount were among the other players in attendance at Carrington during a light opening session. Both players will be hoping for prominent seasons at the club.

Young players like Hannibal Mejbri, Radekk Vitek, Willy Kambwala and Will Fish were all spotted by club photographers.

Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Altay Bayindir, Christian Eriksen, Rasmus Højlund, and Scott McTominay have all exited the European Championships but are entitled to three weeks of holiday before returning to the club.

The same applies for those who remain in the tournament, with Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo and Tom Heaton in the England squad.

Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho, Lisandro Martínez and Facundo Pellistri are competing in the Copa America in the United States.

Jadon Sancho was reportedly set to return to Carrington with the squad despite his exile and loan to Borussia Dortmund last season. He was not spotted by club photographers, however.

The club held talks with Mason Greenwood at the training ground on Monday morning as his permanent exit looks likely. He did not train with the squad.
