Jose Mourinho wants another Man United player at Fenerbahçe after Victor Lindelöf pursuit
Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahçe are looking at signing another Manchester United player as they pursue Victor Lindelöf.
The Reds are in need of sales this summer to address all of the priority positions within the squad. Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho are both expected to depart.
However, there are more moves that need to be done, and Lindelöf appears to be one player who could be leaving Old Trafford this summer.
Jose Mourinho, the manager who signed Lindelöf from Benfica in 2017, is now interested in reuniting with the defender.
According to SporX, the Turkish club’s sporting director, Mario Branco, has started making attempts to sign the Swedish centre-back, and Mourinho is very keen on the signing.
It was added that Branco is looking to strike a deal below £8.5 million as official negotiations begin with the Old Trafford club.
For United, it would be beneficial to get Lindelöf’s wages out but they’ll need additional sales to ensure they have space to work with as they target signings at centre-back and striker.
According to the aforementioned report, Branco has another player from United on his radar. The sporting director has assessed the financials involved in a deal for Casemiro, who is likely to depart Old Trafford this summer.
It is believed that if the figure requested by United is at a level that can be met, the Turkish club will sit at the bargaining table for the Brazilian.
United will likely be looking for around £30 million for the former Real Madrid midfielder, and it remains to be seen whether this is something that Fenerbahçe can afford alongside his wages.
