Ex-Manchester United target has £60m valuation drop, would fit well at Old Trafford
Manchester United have seen one of their former targets drop almost £60 million in valuation, and he could be a great fit for Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United are looking to sign a new forward this summer window. Anthony Martial‘s departure means Rasmus Højlund is now the club’s only recognised centre-forward in Erik ten Hag‘s squad.
With this in mind, UtdDistrict understands that INEOS are looking to sign a new striker early in the window, with links to Joshua Zirkzee providing evidence of that.

However, another player who may be available this summer could well fit the role United wants, and the star has seen his evaluation drop by around £60 million.
Manchester United’s past interest in Joao Felix has been well documented, and according to the Spanish outlet Sport, his valuation has fallen from £85 million to as little as £25 million.
Felix is currently on loan at Barcelona from Atletico Madrid and did not feature during Portugal’s opening game of the 2024 European Championships. It is said that Atletico have placed a lot of hope in the idea that performances in Germany could increase his valuation.
The piece further suggests that Atletico are not opposed to selling in the summer, although, with his current contract not expiring until 2029, there seems to be little rush to transfer the player permanently.
Felix would be a fantastic option in Ten Hag’s squad. The versatile forward has proven his talent on many occasions.
Although inconsistent, United have seen first-hand the damage he can do, with the player scoring against them at Old Trafford during the 2021 Champions League round of 16, leading the home team to a 1-0 loss.
He would be able to rotate with Højlund as a striker option while also providing the option to play just behind the Danish international should United wish to play two central forwards. He also possesses the fantastic ability to play with two feet in attack, which United lack.
