Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou hints at potential injury blow for Man United clash
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has hinted at a potential injury blow for their Premier League clash against Manchester United.
Following a frustrating 1-1 draw against FC Twente in the Europa League, Manchester United are gearing up to face Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in their upcoming Premier League clash.
Erik ten Hag’s team has had a shaky start to the league season, managing just two wins from their first five matches and scoring a modest five goals.
Tottenham have faced similar difficulties, also securing two wins in their opening five games. Both teams are tied on seven points, with Spurs holding a slight advantage in goal difference.
This match presents a chance for Ten Hag’s side to gain significant momentum, but it will require a much-improved display compared to their recent performance.
Ange Postecoglou team news update
Speaking ahead of the Sunday clash, Ange Postecoglou has been asked about his team’s condition. They played in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Club captain Heung-Min Son came off midway through the second half of that game with what looked to be an injury and Postecoglou confirms that he is a doubt for the United game.
“I think obviously still early days from last night, it’s fair to say the boys are fairly tired, the ones who put in a shift,” the Australian manager said.
“I think apart from Sonny, everyone’s okay and Sonny I don’t think it’s too bad so he wants to train tomorrow so obviously we’ll see how it goes in training tomorrow and make a decision from there.
“But again I will we got another day up our sleeve to give him every chance.”
Meanwhile, Ten Hag has confirmed that he will have the same squad as Wednesday’s draw to FC Twente, with Mason Mount and Rasmus Højlund in contention to start for the first time since injury.
