Manchester United keen to ‘strike a deal’ for exceptional talent, talks expected to ‘accelerate’ soon
Manchester United are reportedly keen to strike a deal for one exceptional talent, with talks expected to ‘accelerate’ soon.
After securing the signings of Chido Obi Martin and Sekou Kone in the summer, among other exciting talents, it is clear that Manchester United want to build for the future.
The Academy at Carrington is excelling with plenty of potential first-team stars but INEOS want to bring in further additions before they are worth millions of pounds.
Sverre Halseth Nypan appears to be the club’s next target after they played the Norwegian talent in a pre-season fixture against Rosenborg.
The 17-year-old cannot move to United until he turns 18 in December but reports claim that the Reds want to secure his signature in the January transfer window.
United keen to strike a deal for Nypan
According to a new report from TBR Football, the Reds are keen to ‘strike a deal’ with Rosenborg for the exciting teenager.
However, it was added that United will face competition from their Premier League rivals Manchester City. Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Marseille are also interested in the midfielder.
The Old Trafford outfit have already held talks for a potential deal and are expected to accelerate those conversations in the coming weeks.
Finally, the report states that United scouts attended to watch Nypan this week for Norway under-21’s 5-1 victory against Turkey.
Nypan’s reaction to United interest
It was not the first time United representatives had watched the 17-year-old talent. They were in attendance for Rosenborg’s clash against Lillestrøm last month.
Nypan was asked about United’s interest after that game and remained calm when speaking about the level of attention the club was paying him.
“I didn’t know about it,” he responded, as per MUnitedFR. “So I don’t really think about it.
“It will always be like that, so I don’t think about it. I have to learn to deal with it and I think I have.”
