Sverre Halseth Nypan breaks silence on Manchester United interest as scouts in attendance
Sverre Halseth Nypan has broken his silence on Manchester United’s reported interest in him after scouts attended his latest game with Rosenborg.
Erik ten Hag’s side travelled to the Lerkendal Stadion for the beginning of their pre-season in the summer and lost the game 1-0 to Norweigan outfit Rosenborg.
The result did not matter, as it was a time for United players to begin getting their fitness levels back ahead of the new season.
However, it was 17-year-old midfielder Sverre Halseth Nypan on the Norweigan team who caught the eye of many watching.
The young talent was very impressive during his first-half performance against the likes of Mason Mount and Casemiro in the United engine room.
Nypan’s response to United scouts watching
Nypan has had a solid season for the Norweigan outfit so far, scoring five goals and providing six assists. He has started only 17 games so far in their league campaign.
The young midfielder started Rosenborg’s clash against Lillestrøm on the weekend, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. He played 72 minutes before being substituted.
According to a report from TV2 Sport, United and Bayer Leverkusen scouts were in attendance for the Sunday game, most likely to watch Nypan in action.
It has previously been reported by Attacking Football, as per Academy Scoop, that United are interested in signing the teenager after he turns 18 years old in December.
That could mean a potential January move for the exciting talent. However, he does not seem ready to let any potential interest get in the way of his current focus with Rosenborg.
“I didn’t know about it,” he responded when asked about the scouts reportedly in attendance to watch him on the weekend, as per MUnitedFR.
“So I don’t really think about it. It will always be like that, so I don’t think about it. I have to learn to deal with it and I think I have.”
