Manchester United have reportedly turned down an approach from Inter Milan for United fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

According to a report from The Sun, Inter had approached United, proposing a swap deal that would see Wan-Bissaka playing his football at the San Siro.

In return for Wan-Bissaka, United would receive long-term Erik ten Hag target Denzel Dumfries.

Dumfries, 27, has been a target of United’s for several years now, impressing throughout his time in Italy for his attacking output from the fullback position.

With 5 goal contributions in 15 Serie A matches this season, Dumfries has been a constant in an Inter team that is looking to win their first league title since the 20/21 season.

According to the report, despite Dumfries’ role in the Inter side, the Italian giants need to sell to comply with Financial Fair Play rules. Additionally, the defender is currently in a contract dispute with Inter, with the club unwilling to offer the £80,000 a week he is demanding.

Dumfries now looks set to remain at Inter for the meantime, with United turning down Inter’s proposal, instead keeping Wan-Bissaka at the club.

Wan-Bissaka has battled through injury woes to cement himself as an important member of the United squad, making 12 league appearances so far this season.

Despite the news that United have turned down Inter’s proposal, United are believed to have considered proposing a swap deal that would see Wan-Bissaka moving back to Crystal Palace, with Palace’s Michael Olise moving to Old Trafford in return.

Olise would be seen as a replacement for Manchester United wingers Antony and Jadon Sancho, both of whom have reportedly been offered to Saudi Pro League sides by United.
