Manchester United are looking to add an ‘exceptional’ talent to the first-team squad on a more regular basis if Facundo Pellistri moves on loan this month.

Pellistri, 21, is set to leave the Old Trafford club on loan before the end of the month – and a deal could include an option to buy as well.

The United winger appeared close to a move to Granada but reports from MailSport have stated that the move has stalled due to the wage split between the two clubs.

Negotiations are still ongoing but other clubs are interested in Pellistri too.

However, it was also reported that Erik ten Hag and United have another concern due to young winger Omari Forson having yet to sign a new deal.

He has six months remaining on his contract at United, and Ten Hag wants to ensure there is sufficient cover if Pellistri leaves on loan.

Forson, who has been described as ‘exceptional’ by academy director Nick Cox, made his debut in the FA Cup win against Wigan Athletic earlier this month.

Yet, if he does not commit to a new deal, it is said that United may have to reconsider the role that he plays for the rest of the season until his contract expires. It was added that rival clubs have expressed interest in the player too.

Forson has played nine games in all competitions this term and has seven goals and two assists.
