Jadon Sancho has revealed what Marco Reus told him when Manchester United played Borussia Dortmund during the summer tour in America.

Sancho, 23, enjoyed a solid pre-season campaign before his Old Trafford future was thrown into major doubt at the beginning of the season.

After several appearances from the bench, Sancho was left out of the United squad to face Arsenal at the start of September. When asked about the decision, Erik ten Hag stated that it was due to the player’s training performance.

Sancho publicly disagreed with the manager and believed that he was being made a ‘scapegoat’ before being exiled from the first-team squad until his loan move to Dortmund was complete.

Returning to the club that he made his name at, Sancho is eager to reignite his career following a difficult spell and has even provided some ‘inside information’ during a new interview with Dortmund media.

When United faced up against Dortmund in Las Vegas last summer as part of the club’s pre-season tour, a clip of Sancho and former teammate Marco Reus emerged after full-time with the pair speaking.

Sancho has revealed that Reus, whom he assisted on his second debut last week, was trying to convince him to return to the German club.

“That Vegas clip that you see [with Marco Reus], he was telling me to come back to Dortmund, that’s inside information,” explained Sancho.

“He was telling me, ‘whenever you’re ready bro, I’m here’ so, yeah.

“I’ve always had it in my mind that if it didn’t work out somewhere, BVB is always somewhere that I know, and everyone knows me inside out; it’s good to know that the club and the players back me.”

Sancho’s loan at Dortmund does not include an option to buy, and he is set to return to Old Trafford in the summer, where his future will then be decided by INEOS’ new-look team, which includes newly appointed CEO Omar Berrada.
