Manchester United enquire about Japanese star as Marcel Sabitzer flies to England
Manchester United have made an enquiry to Eintracht Frankfurt about their Japanese attacking midfielder Daichi Kamada, whilst Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer takes flight to Manchester to complete a deal.
The Reds have sprung into action on deadline day after it was revealed that Christian Eriksen will be out of action for around three months.
Reports emerged on Tuesday afternoon that United were looking across Europe for possible loan replacements and that Atletico Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco was offered to the club.
Following on from that, Marcel Sabitzer came to the forefront and developments came quickly. Various reports have said that personal terms have been agreed and the Bayern midfielder was pictured in Munich’s airport hours ago.
Sky Sports have added that Isco, Saul Niguez, Houssem Aouar and Carrasco were all offered to the Old Trafford club on Tuesday but United preferred the option of Sabitzer.
However, reports from the Daily Mail have mentioned that United have enquired to Bundesliga club Frankfurt about their talented creative midfielder Kamada.
The Japanese international has seven goals and five assists in the league so far this season. He has also scored three goals in the Champions League this term.
Whether or not this option would be as a last-minute alternative to Sabitzer if the Austrian’s deal bumps into any complications, or as a separate deal itself is unknown. United have been adamant they can only work with loan deals this month.
United will be hoping that Sabitzer will be able to play against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in the Premier League on the weekend.
