Man United fans agree with Jamie Carragher’s scathing assessment of midfielder
Manchester United fans are agreeing with Jamie Carragher’s assessment of Soyfan Amrabat during a 0-0 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
While many thought there may be a repeat of the game that saw Liverpool trounce Manchester United 7-0 last season, Erik ten Hag‘s Reds defended their way to a 0-0 draw on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool were the superior attacking side but could not break down United’s strong defensive line, with Raphaël Varane and André Onana receiving special praise for their performances.

One player who has been heavily criticised, however, is Sofyan Amrabat, who Jamie Carragher feels “can’t run” and was second best against Liverpool’s midfield all evening.
“I don’t know why they’re playing a man-to-man system. He [Amrabat] can’t run,” he said on Sky Sports.
This has been echoed by United fans, who collectively felt that the Morrocan’s inability to run was easy to spot.
“Amrabat… is likely only playing because of injuries – it’s not hard to guess that Casemiro would be starting if he was able to,” was written in UtdDistrict’s ‘five things noticed’ from the fixture.
“United signed him for a loan fee of £8.5 million with a £25 million option, and so far, he has not proven that that option should be triggered.
“Amrabat received a yellow card in the first half, which is never a good thing to have at Anfield, and in general, he looked weak, indecisive, and for the most part, second-best against whoever he was against Liverpool’s midfield.”
