Erik ten Hag has exposed one of Manchester United’s flaws during their 0-0 draw against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United have left Anfield with a point after they drew 0-0 with Liverpool on Sunday evening when many thought they’d be embarrassed.

Erik ten Hag‘s men were able to keep Mohammed Salah and co at bay after the 7-0 drugging last season, with particularly good performances from Raphaël Varane and André Onana helping the team.

Ten Hag, however, has pointed out one weakness in his team that stopped his side from grabbing a win.

“Football always starts with good organisation and defending,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live after the game.

“If I have a criticism, it is that we should have had more passes going into the box to hurt the opponent. That’s the next step we have to make. We have to get more consistent in our performance levels.”

The Dutch manager was full of praise for his defensive players after the game, saying the defending was “almost perfect”.

“The way we defended it was almost perfect,” he said. “When we made a mistake, there was always a team-mate to sort it out. I think that is the big win from today, we have to keep this and bring this every game.

“Always you have to fight for each other. At Manchester United it is always the same – we against the rest.”
