Jude Bellingham is a name which has cropped up as on Manchester United’s list on multiple occasions this season so far, as Erik ten Hag looks ahead to the summer.

The Manchester United manager wants to sign another midfield player this summer, and Jude Bellingham is quite possibly the hottest property on the market right now.

Bellingham originally exploded onto the scene in the Championship with Birmingham City, putting in some wonderful performances – so much so that United gave him and his family a full tour of their facilities by Eric Cantona, although their efforts to persuade the midfielder to join the club were ultimately unsuccessful.

Bellingham then joined German side Borussia Dortmund, and ever since has been putting in brilliant after brilliant performance, so much so that he started for England during the recent World Cup, scoring against Iran and impressing on the world stage.

A number of clubs are said to be interested in him, with the strongest links coming in the forms of Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Manchester United. Chelesea were also linked, however after the record signing of Enzo Fernandez, those links may well die down for the time being.

Spanish outlet Relevo have claimed that despite the significant interest from Madrid, members of his family would prefer him to move to a Premier League club as they feel the adaption would be easier than that of a move to Real Madrid.

It is reported that the family feel since Bellingham is still just 19 years of age, he has plenty of time to move to Real Madrid in the future, should he want to.

In order to sign Bellingham, it is said that the total fee would be around €130 million including bonuses, which would make Bellingham’s transfer a British transfer record – overtaking Chelsea’s €120m Enzo Fernandez signing.

With Manchester United looking to sign a midfielder next summer, it is shaping up to look like Erik ten Hag may ask the club to go back into the market to retrieve Frenkie de Jong, who did not join last summer despite United agreeing a fee of around £85 million for the player with his current club, Barcelona.

Bellingham would be a more than suitable alternative, with the player’s profile an almost perfect fit alongside Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes.

It has previously been reported that if Erik ten Hag could choose any player in the world to purchase, it would be Jude Bellingham. United, apparently, believe Bellingham could be the face of Manchester United ending their Premier League title drought, and are keeping an eye on his situation as it looks increasingly likely that he will be on the move this summer.
