Erik ten Hag provides two Man United team news hints for Brighton clash
Erik ten Hag has provided two team news hints for his Manchester United side to face Brighton on the final day of the Premier League season.
United themselves in a disappointing position going into the final game of the Premier League campaign.
Being eighth in the table, this season has been a tumultuous journey for the Red Devils, marked by inconsistent performances and managerial controversy.
Fans and pundits alike had high hopes that Erik ten Hag’s side would be able to build on the third-placed finish and Carabao Cup victory last term.
However, despite the season being poor, there is still a chance to end it with success in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Winning against Brighton would help build some momentum ahead of the Wembley trip next weekend.
Ten Hag’s team hints
Speaking to club media ahead of the away clash against The Seagulls, Ten Hag has confirmed that Bruno Fernandes is fit to start after returning from injury last time out.
The Portuguese midfielder looked slightly comfortable coming off against Newcastle United on Wednesday but looks set to be placed in the attacking midfield role.
“Bruno didn’t miss so much, and he’s fit,” confirmed the United boss. “I would say that is one of my least concerns, if he can keep going. He’s fresh and he’s in very good form.”
The manager also spoke about returning Lisandro Martínez. On Wednesday, he made his first appearance since the back-end of March.
Ten Hag will be hoping that the Argentine is fit enough to start the final and admitted that he needs to get as many minutes in his legs as possible, suggesting a possible start on Sunday.
“t’s important [to get game time]. They missed some games. Rashford, since Coventry, but, of course, Licha Martinez missed, I would say, almost the whole season. So every minute that he can get, we have to give him.”
