Amad Diallo praises three ‘important’ Man United teammates ahead of FA Cup final
Amad Diallo scored his first Premier League goal during Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Newcastle United on Wednesday evening.
Amad, 21, has now started consecutive Premier League fixtures for the first time in his United career, and it was a Man of the Match display against The Magpies.
The winger scored his first league goal and grabbed a smart assist for Kobbie Mainoo’s opener as well. He is making a strong case to start in the FA Cup final next weekend.
Erik ten Hag will be looking ahead to the Wembley final against Manchester City as a crucial moment for his side, who could turn their season around within 90 minutes.
Fortunately, in a season filled with injuries, there are players returning to action ahead of the aall-important game and that is something Amad believes is good for the team.
“Yeah, they are big players, important players for the team,” responded Amad when asked about Marcus Rashford, Lisandro Martínez, and Bruno Fernandes returning to the side against Newcastle.
“They are players who are going to make a difference when they come onto the pitch.
“We are very happy to have them in the team because they are leaders and yeah, it is happy.”
Ten Hag has also confirmed that Harry Maguire is likely to be fit for the final, but Luke Shaw is a doubt for a return after suffering a recent setback in his recovery.
The FA Cup final kicks off at 3:00pm (UK time) on 25 May.
