Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Brazil and Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Bremer, who is under contract with Juventus until 2028, has been consistently excellent during his six seasons in Italy across spells at Juventus and Torino.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, United are expected to sign two centre-halves at the earliest opportunity, with Bremer one of several targets being monitored by the Red Devils.

Reports of United sending scouts to watch Bremer have been consistent over this season, including during Juventus‘ 2-2 draw with Atalanta back in March.

This season, United have used eight different centre-back players, several of whom are expected to leave this summer.

Both Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane’s contracts are expiring at the end of this season, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof in the final 14 months of their deals. Of those names, only Maguire has an option for the club to add an additional year to his deal, meaning defensive recruitments are seemingly an inevitability at Old Trafford.

Bremer has also been linked to Manchester United by Italian outlet Calciomercato, who have revealed that United will face stiff competition from Atlético Madrid if they are to pursue their interest in Bremer.

That outlet has also placed an expected price tag of £43 million on Bremer, making him cheaper than several of the other targets on Ineos’ shortlist, such as Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite. Also on that list is Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham, who is set to leave the club as a free agent at the end of this season.

UtdDistrict understands that the Red Devils are very high on the Fulham defender and are actively monitoring his situation.

With United struggling to beat the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules, Bremer and Adarabioyo would offer United the chance to sign two centre-backs for less than the price of Branthwaite alone.

It has also been reported by some outlets that Juventus hold an interest in Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood, who is unlikely to have a future at Old Trafford.

However, it is unclear if Greenwood would be included in a deal for Bremer, with United believed to prefer the idea of selling the 22-year-old.
