Bruno Fernandes makes admission all Manchester United stars know after Newcastle win
Bruno Fernandes has made an admission that all Manchester United players know following Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Newcastle United.
Manchester United got back on track with a 3-2 victory over Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening, earning three vital Premier League points.
Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Ramsus Højlund scored for Erik ten Hag‘s team in their final home game of the season.
Despite not being perfect, with Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall scoring for the visitors, the win was crucial after back-to-back defeats against Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
United’s last two games of the season are an away match against Brighton and the FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.
Speaking after the game, captain Bruno Fernandes admitted that the season has not been a good one and that all United’s players are aware of this.
“Obviously, the job isn’t finished yet,” he told Sky Sports. “We still have one game in the Premier League then the biggest game of the season, the FA Cup final.
“It has been a tough season. The table shows that and we are all aware of that. The fans have been amazing and behind us all season. We all appreciate what they have been doing for us. We want to do better and do differently, and they [the fans] deserve that.
“They have been amazing for us and we had to do something, we have been trying but results don’t show that. We have been working hard and everyone has been giving their best it is not enough and we have to do more.
“We still have two games to go and we have to finish in the best way.
“It doesn’t exist, a captain’s performance, it is a team performance.
