Diogo Dalot agrees with Erik ten Hag’s “you didn’t believe me” Man United statement
Diogo Dalot has agreed with Erik ten Hag’s statement surrounding the recent improvement in performances from Manchester United.
After the end of 2023 left Manchester United struggling for any sort of consistent form, the turn of the year has seen the club win four of their five games in 2024, drawing the other.
Most recently, Rasmus Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho tore apart West Ham United at Old Trafford, with Erik ten Hag‘s men climbing their way to sixth in the Premier League table.

It has been a rather miraculous change in the side’s current situation, with Ten Hag jibbing with the media that they did not believe him when he was claiming that the form would turn around.
“Yeah, but you didn’t believe me. No one. I have seen all your briefing,” the Dutchman joked after the 3-0 win over West Ham.
Continuing, Ten Hag was quick to praise those players who have helped change the side’s trajectory.
“You see, the progress is coming, and we bought players in the summer for the future. We also make choices to give players who deserved it, to get opportunities in the first team, as Garnacho and Mainoo [did].”
Another who performed very well against West Ham was right-back Diogo Dalot, who has become one of Ten Hag’s undroppable players, forming a good connection with Garnacho on the right-hand side.
“Now the results are coming,” Dalot told club media when asked about the recent uptick in the side’s form, echoing Ten Hag’s words.
“The work that we’ve been doing in the past, I think it’s starting now to pay off. We’re starting to get our rewards from it in the second part of the season. We know that we didn’t start the way that we wanted, but now we look forward to these last few months and try to change it. And, obviously, individually, I’m trying to give my best for the team.”
