Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants Manchester United man to sign for AC Milan, he’s for sale in January
Manchester United are being targeted by AC Milan in January for one of their defenders under Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United saw three new defenders arrive in the 2024 summer transfer window as Erik ten Hag looked to revamp his defensive line after a leaky season at Old Trafford.
The club brought Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Leny Yoro as part of INEOS’ first summer at the club’s helm.

However, fast-forward two months, and United is under fire from all angles after shaky performances have seen the club throw away leads in games, such as drawing 3-3 with FC Porto despite being 2-0 up inside 25 minutes away from home.
United are set to sign at least one new centre-back in the summer, as the futures of three defenders are in doubt.
Harry Maguire may leave the club with his contract soon set to expire, while Jonny Evans may choose to hang his boots up as the 36-year-old heads into the final season of his two-year deal.
Meanwhile, Victor Lindelöf is all but confirmed to leave the club, too. The Swedish international had his contract extended by a year during the turn of 2024, but according to reports last month, he is up for sale.
According to MilanLive, former United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who now acts as an operating partner for owners RedBird Capital and a senior advisor at AC Milan, wants the Swedish defender “at all costs” as a free agent this summer.
Lindelöf’s deal expires in June 2025, meaning if United want to secure any cash for his transfer, the deal will have to be done in January.
The 30-year-old is now out of United’s long-term plans, and he has been proposed as an option to bring in a high-quality and experienced player without having to pay a transfer fee.
But with Milan sitting 6th in Serie A, they could acquire the player six months earlier if they pay United in January.
Leny Yoro is set to return to the club in early December following his injury in July, and once the 18-year-old is back in the squad, Lindelöf’s stature will only drop further.
