One Manchester United staff member has admitted that staff are “working in fear” under the new regime at Old Trafford under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team took charge at Manchester United earlier this year and have made major changes in many departments.

Dan Ashworth, Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox have joined to create a new leadership team while the British billionaire has also stripped down areas of the club.

In fact, it was confirmed earlier this summer that almost a quarter of United’s overall workforce would face redundancy.

Ratcliffe has also stopped United’s flexible work approach, with employees now unable to work from home for the club.

According to the Manchester Evening News, an area which has become a stricter operation is the recruitment team, with well-placed sources stating that Ratcliffe’s arrival has caused this.

One scout told the outlet that staff are ‘working in fear’ as they are under the impression that jobs could be on the line if they make a mistake over a future signing.

The Reds brought in five first-team players in the summer, with Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui being signed for just over £200 million.

After struggles in recent games, some of those players have been criticised by supporters and pundits. Ugarte’s struggling start to life in Manchester, in particular, has been highlighted.

United have become linked with poor transfer deals over the last decade and it is something that the new leadership want to move away from.

The most important aspect right now is how the entire squad is playing. Ten Hag is under great scrutiny due to the way he is setting the team up and reports suggest that upcoming games against Aston Villa and FC Porto could decide his future.
