Shaw, Malacia, Ugarte: Manchester United early team news vs FC Twente (Europa League)
Manchester United begin their 2024/25 Europa League campaign this week with a home clash against Dutch club FC Twente.
The Reds have had a mixed start to the new Premier League season, winning just two of their opening five outings.
Progression to the Carabao Cup fourth-round came through a thumping 7-0 victory over League One side Barnsley.
Erik ten Hag’s side now turn their attention to one of the other cup competitions they will be vying to win in the Europa League.
In the competition’s new format, which you can learn about by clicking here, the Reds will open their European campaign with a home fixture against FC Twente on Wednesday evening.

The Reds will likely be looking to rotate the team while still providing a strong eleven going into the game.
Noussair Mazraoui is one player who has been playing a lot of football so far this term and with his injury history, this could be a game that he misses out.
Unfortunately, it remains unlikely that Luke Shaw or Tyrell Malacia are back in action for this game, with neither player yet training fully with the first-team squad.
Instead, 20-year-old Toby Collyer could move back into left-back again after making his full debut against Barnsley in the position.
The only other guaranteed absentee is expected to be Leny Yoro. Meanwhile, Victor Lindelöf returned to first-team training last week and could be involved in the squad.
Manuel Ugarte is set to make his second United start, with the new midfielder in need of extra minutes on the pitch.
Mason Mount and Rasmus Højlund could also get game-time after appearing in the matchday squad against Crystal Palace on the weekend.
