Jadon Sancho was not involved for Borussia Dortmund on Friday evening as they were held by FC Heidenheim to draw 0-0 in the Bundesliga clash.

Sancho, 23, rejoined Dortmund on loan from Manchester United last month after being exiled from the first-team squad under Erik ten Hag.

The winger posted a statement on social media after Ten Hag told the media that he was left out of the squad to face Arsenal due to his training performance.

Sancho suggested that Ten Hag was lying and labelled himself as a ‘scapegoat’ before being banished from the squad.

In order to return to first-team football, the 23-year-old returned to Germany in the January transfer market after over four months without a game.

After an assist on his second debut for the Bundesliga club, Sancho started consecutive games against Koln and Bochum.

However, when Dortmund faced up against Heidenheim this week, the United loanee was not involved in the squad after picking up a muscular injury in the build-up to the game.

Before the match, Edin Terzic told reporters Sancho was in doubt for the game after missing several training sessions leading up the the clash.

“Jadon has muscular problems in his adductor area, which is not surprising given his long break from playing. We won’t be taking too many risks,” he said.

Sancho claimed that he ‘felt at home’ when he made the return to Dortmund last month.
