Manchester United could be selling highly-rated teenager Isak Hansen-Aaoren on the last day of the January transfer window.

Hansen-Aaroen has been in discussions with United for a new contract at the club. However, the crux of the issue has come down to promises of game-time and development over the ‘significant’ package that he was offered.

United had originally planned to loan out the Norweiegan in the January transfer market after getting him to agree to a new deal, but they are now considering a permanent transfer before the end of the window.

The club are looking to include favourable future clauses in any such deal as they have in multiple other academy exits in the last month.

According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Werder Bremen are still pushing to sign the 19-year-old midfielder from United.

And he has revealed that The Reds have provided the green light for the deal, which is on the verge of completion now and expected to be finalised on Thursday 1 February.

Bundesliga clubs have until 6pm CET on that date to complete all their transfer business for the rest of the season.

Hansen-Aaroen has not made his debut for United yet. He played in a few pre-season fixtures.

“He did well, making a good pass for the first goal,” Ten Hag said of Isak in the summer. “He’s really comfortable on the ball; he has good vision and good scanning. Of course he’s a young player, he has some deficits he needs to work on, which we will show him and tell him (about) and we will work with him to improve him.

“I can’t tell you now whether he will play the rest of the pre-season with us. We are one week away (from the US tour), and other young kids are doing very well, so I’m really pleased with our first week of work.”
