Manchester United have reportedly already made an initial approach for Jadon Sancho’s replacement amid a hint surrounding Erik ten Hag’s future.

Reports towards the end of 2023 saw Federico Chiesa named as a player that Manchester United were looking to bring in to replace Jadon Sancho in the summer.

Sancho, who is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund, looks to not have a future as long as Erik ten Hag remains at Old Trafford, and United will have to scour the market ahead of the summer for his replacement.

Italian journalist Ciro Venerato, speaking recently, has explained that Chiesa could leave Juventus in the summer and names Manchester United as the one club that could be interested.

“There is a player who could leave Juventus, and we don’t know whether Allegri’s future has anything to do with it or not. We’re talking about Federico Chiesa, who has yet to renew his contract,” said the transfer expert during his appearance on Rai via TuttoJuve

“He will probably look abroad, especially in the Premier League. There could be an interest from Manchester United.”

Speaking further, Venerato clarified that United had already made an initial approach for the player, but that a final decision is yet to be made, eluding to the notion that Erik ten Hag will not be at Old Trafford in the summer.

“The Red Devils made an initial approach that could lead to a more concrete attempt in the summer when the English club will know the identity of their manager for next season.”
