Manchester United will be looking to rectify a last-minute loss to Brighton as they face West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Manchester United most recently suffered a 90+9th minute winner by Alexis Mac Allister after Luke Shaw was judged to have handballed, with Brighton snatching all three points at the Amex Stadium.

Erik ten Hag‘s men continue their trip on the road, travelling to East London to try and end their poor away form.

Having dropped many points in the last few game weeks, United are seemingly dragging themselves into an unnecessary battle for the top four in the Premier League, sitting just four points ahead of Liverpool, who are in fifth place.

The match referees for the fixture have been confirmed.

Match Referee

Peter Bankes will be the main man in charge of the match on Friday. He has only previously refereed one Manchester United fixture this season – United’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

He has issued 79 yellow cards across 18 Premier League fixtures this season and has only brandished one red card across all competitions.

Assistant Referees

Eddie Smart and Simon Bennett will be the assistant referee for the match.

They may have a busy job on Sunday evening after Manchester United were caught offside seven times against Aston Villa last weekend.

Fourth Official

Paul Tierney will be on the sidelines between Erik ten Hag and David Moyes on Sunday.

Video Assistant Referee

Stuart Attwell will take charge of VAR for the game, with Darren Cann his assistant.
