A Premier League star has confirmed it is his “dream” to be playing at Old Trafford, as Manchester United now explore a £30 million move.
Manchester United could be set for one of the busiest summers of any other Premier League side, with the first big call: who will lead the club into the next season? Michael Carrick, or someone else?
CEO Omar Berrada and Director of Football Jason Wilcox will be searching for their next head coach, but Carrick will have forced his name into the conversation, despite only narrowly beating Ole Gunnar Solsjkær to the interim role after Rúben Amorim’s sacking.
The next point of call for the recruitment team will be finding a replacement for Casemiro, who has already confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season, although he has denied a move back to one of his former clubs.
Manuel Ugarte also looks like he could be set for the exit door, so bringing in new midfielders will be key to any success United want to have in the Premier League, and potentially Champions League, next season.
Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Amadou Onana, Sandro Tonali and Adam Wharton have all been heavily linked to the club, but it seems United will look to sign one of them and another cheaper option.
United explore £30 million Adams transfer
Tyler Adams is another to be linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, but reports are yet to be strong, despite him admitting it would be a dream to play at the stadium.
On Men in Blazers, Adams said: “You dream of nights playing at Old Trafford against Man United. Those are the biggest games you can play in the Premier League, and something like that happens.” Adams spoke of his injury in the opening minutes of United’s match against AFC Bournemouth in December.
Now, Caught Offside have reported that there is interest not just from Adams side, but United’s too. The report states that Adams has impressed scouts of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Adams is said to be “a strong candidate who fits their tactical needs,” as per a source. While “Bournemouth could consider offers in the region of £30 million for Adams.”
A £30 million move for a Premier League-proven midfielder could be a brilliant option for Manchester United, especially if they are in the Champions League next season.

United must secure Adams early
Caught Offside states that clubs may have to wait until after the World Cup before making an official move for the USA international, but this would be a poor choice for United.
Last summer, United acted quickly to sign Matheus Cunha before any other clubs could activate their interest. Jason Wilcox must do the same with Adams.
If United wait until after the World Cup, Bournemouth may drive his price higher than the £30 million Caught Offside reports.
However, if they make an early move, before the end of the season, United could secure Adams on a cut-price deal and have a Premier League-proven midfielder for next year.
