Man United academy star trolls Liverpool brilliantly following U18s hattrick in 9-1 in
Manchester United academy star Ethan Wheatley scored three goals and trolled Liverpool with a fantastic celebration during a 9-1 win over the Merseyside club.
In stark contrast to Erik ten Hag‘s team, Manchester United‘s U18s have been having the season of their lives, sitting top of the U18s Premier League table, 13 points ahead of Manchester City in second, albeit with three more games played.
On Saturday afternoon, they defeated Liverpool in a 9-1 thrashing away from home, with three goals from Ethan Wheatley, two from Gabriele Biancheri, two from James Scanlon, one from Ethan Williams, and one from Ashton Missin – they are absolutely flying.

When the two sides met earlier this season at Carrington, United won the tie 4-2, but the major talking point from the tie was a moment between Liverpool’s Luca Furnell-Gill and Wheatley, where Furnell-Gill threw a punch at the United academy forward.
Furnell-Gill also elbowed Wheatley later on in the fixture, with fans calling for a “significant ban” for the Liverpool academy player.
In the reverse tie on Saturday, Wheatley was able to make his own statement on the matter, trolling Furnell-Gill by copying Wayne Rooney’s famous punching celebration after scoring.
The Liverpool player served a five-match ban for his actions earlier this season and will no doubt be feeling down after he and his side shipped nine goals as United’s record-breaking U18s continue absolutely steamroll the league.
Hopefully, some of these academy products will get their chance to shine in the first team over the next few years.
The first-team squad are set to host Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, and Ten Hag will be hoping for a similar performance… although that may not be as likely.
