Mainoo, Mount, Maguire: Manchester United early injury updates vs FC Porto

Manchester United have multiple injury concerns as Erik ten Hag prepares to face FC Porto in the second Europa League tie of the campaign.
Manchester United are turning their heads back to the Europa League following a disappointing string of results in the Premier League so far this season.
The club are 13th in the league table, just six points from the bottom and eight from the top. Losses against Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, and Brighton compound the side’s poor form.
The recent loss against Tottenham has further exposed Ten Hag to criticism, and the upcoming away ties against FC Porto and Aston Villa are now crucial in determining his job status.
After a draw against FC Twente last week in the Europa League, United need a win on the road against the Portuguese opposition.
Against Spurs, both Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount had to be substituted due to injuries, although the latter has since confirmed that he is fine, as his head clash was “just a stretch” with no long-term effects.
Mainoo, however, indicated as he came off that he seemed to be suffering from a hamstring issue, which could spell trouble. Ten Hag is expected to confirm the status of both players on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Victor Lindelöf returned to the squad for the first time since pre-season, although he was an unused substitute against Spurs. Tyrell Malacia is back in first-team training but is not expected to return to the squad until December.
Leny Yoro is continuing to work on his rehabilitation and is targeting a return against Arsenal on 3 December.
Harry Maguire missed out on the weekend’s Premier League fixture due to a knock sustained in training, and an update is expected on the centre-back before United face Porto on Thursday.
