Player Ratings: Brighton vs Manchester United (Premier League)
Manchester United lost 2-1 against Brighton in their second Premier League game of the season.
The Reds were the dominant side until Brighton opened the scoring in the latter stages of the first half.
Erik ten Hag’s side levelled things up in the second half through Amad Diallo and looked like they scored a second until it was disallowed due to a bizarre Joshua Zirkzee offside.
Brighton then provided a dagger in the final minutes of the game, scoring a winner where the United defence were questionable.
The player ratings can be read below.
André Onana – 7/10
Couldn’t do much about the goals. Brilliant distribution throughout.
Noussair Mazraoui – 7/10
An assist for United’s equaliser. Decent display.
Harry Maguire – 5.5/10
Poor defending for the goal. Better in the second half until he was subbed.
Lisandro Martínez – 5.5/10
An underwhelming game.
Diogo Dalot – 7.5/10
Probably United’s best player in the first half. Created their most dangerous chance. Solid in the second half as well.
Casemiro – 5.5/10
A solid first half but looked very leggy in the second half.
Kobbie Mainoo – 7/10
Decent overall game.
Mason Mount – 7.5/10
An impressive performance both on and off the ball. Unfortunate to come off at half time.
Amad Diallo – 6.5/10
Great goal and some other solid moments.
Bruno Fernandes – 6/10
Not massively involved although a little surprising to see him subbed off.
Marcus Rashford – 6.5/10
Very active off the ball, unfortunate to see his goal ruled out.
