Bruno Fernandes makes “difficult” admission about Erik ten Hag’s biggest Man United moment this season
Bruno Fernandes has made a “difficult” admission about Manchester United’s upcoming game and Erik ten Hag’s biggest moment so far this season.
Erik ten Hag has endured a tough start to the season, with Manchester United winning just three of their first eight matches in all competitions.
Back-to-back 3-0 home losses to Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League have added to the pressure.
Despite exploring other managerial options in the summer, INEOS chose to back Ten Hag, extending his contract until 2026.
Various reports have since clarified that the Dutchman has the next two games in charge – against FC Porto and Aston Villa – but his future beyond that seems in doubt.
Bruno Fernandes, who was sent off last time out against Spurs but will be available for the Europa League clash, has admitted that the next game against Porto will not be an easy ride.
“It’s a side that always does really well in Europe, we have to be aware of that,” the club captain told MUTV on the weekend.
“It’s a team that has a great spirit, [are] improving a lot in the last few games, even if they lost the last game in the Europa League.
“We expect a really difficult game there, but we go there to win because it’s everything that we have to think about.”
Ten Hag has had many pressured moments at Old Trafford since taking charge but none larger than right now. The excuses of injuries or lack of transfers are no longer viable.
He simply has to win these next two games otherwise INEOS may look to make a change during the international break.
