Man United among five Premier League clubs interested in £35m Ligue 1 star
Manchester United are among a group of five Premier League clubs that are interested in signing Lille striker Jonathan David in the summer transfer window.
David, 24, has been linked with a move to England’s top flight in recent years, and there appear to be multiple suitors ahead of the summer.
According to a new report from hitc.com, the Canadian striker has admirers from Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham United.
He has scored 14 goals and provided two assists in 25 league appearances this season, helping Lille to fourth place in the table—three points behind third-placed AS Monaco.
The aforementioned report added that in recent weeks Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United and West Ham have all checked on David.
He was a player that was of interest to United last summer, according to a prior report from FootballTransfers, and it was also suggested that Lille placed a £35 million price tag on the forward back in the January transfer market.
That number could be adjusted ahead of the summer window. David’s contract at the French club expires in June 2025, and so he will be entering his final year when clubs next come calling.
United currently have just two recognised strikers at the club. Anthony Martial is expected to leave at the end of the season, leaving 21-year-old Rasmus Højlund as the only no.9.
INEOS have identified the position, as well as two other roles, as key for the upcoming summer window.
