What Sir Jim Ratcliffe thinks about Jadon Sancho following Erik ten Hag sack decision
With Erik ten Hag reportedly being relieved from Manchester United following the FA Cup final, this raises the prospect of a change in Jadon Sancho’s future.
Jadon Sancho has not played for Manchester United since the end of August last year after a public spat with Erik ten Hag saw the winger banned from the first-team squad.
Following Ten Hag’s decision to drop Sancho from a squad to face Arsenal, the Dutch manager explained that the English winger had not shown enough in training to warrant being in the squad, with Sancho then claiming in a statement that this was a lie.

He remained sidelined until January when it was agreed that he would rejoin Borussia Dortmund on a six-month loan deal. However, he could not be reinstated into Ten Hag’s team without a full apology, which he refused to give.
Now, however, it is being reported that Ten Hag will be sacked by Sir Jim Ratcliffe at the end of the season following United’s FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
Should Ten Hag face the chopping block, this seemingly clears the one blockage from Sancho rejoining the team. But, if reports from earlier this year are to be believed, this will not be the case.
Previous reports have stated that United co-owner Ratcliffe, whose team is in charge of all footballing matters at United. agreed with Ten Hag’s handling of the situation and supported him throughout.
Therefore, this would indicate that despite Ten Hag no longer being at Old Trafford, a return for Sancho seems very slim.
INEOS will still be looking to cash in on Sancho this summer, with his price range now reportedly set at around £55 million. Rumours have been circulating that United will only have an initial £35 million to spend this summer, so they will need to raise significant funds to buy new players.
