“Is he even alive?” Manchester United fans bemoan latest injury news update
Manchester United fans have all said the same thing about Tyrell Malacia following the latest team news update surrounding the left-back.
Tyrell Malacia has not played a single minute of professional football for Manchester United since 28 May 2023, when the player played 90 minutes during a 2-1 win over Fulham on the final day of the Premier League season.
Malacia was signed for a fee of around £15 million from Dutch club Feyenoord in the 2022 summer transfer window, with Erik ten Hag keen to bring in competition and cover for Luke Shaw.

His first season saw the player impress fans with his bullish and no-nonsense attitude to defending while also making sure he always played with a smile on his face.
However, after reportedly undergoing an operation ahead of pre-season, Malacia has not donned a United shirt, with the player having multiple set-backs and even a second surgery on what is believed to be a knee problem.
On Tuesday afternoon, X account INSIDERUTD1, which often gives out reliable information regarding injury news, explained that there is still no time frame for Malacia’s return, and that he is still in rehabilitation.

“There is no sign of Malacia anywhere around the club, not even pictures of him,” said one fan in reaction to the news. “Sometimes I forget he plays for Man United. Hope he recovers soon.”
“Is he even alive?” questioned another.
“He’s had to have been caught doing drugs or something, and the club is covering it up by saying he’s injured until his suspension ends,” speculated a third.
Manchester United’s last communication surrounding Malacia came at the beginning of December when they said in a club statement: “Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia is on course to return to action early next year, as he recovers from a knee injury.
“The Dutch left-back has not played so far this season, following an operation over the summer.
“Unfortunately, he suffered a setback during his rehabilitation, which required further surgery.” There has been no official update since.
