Hojlund, Shaw, Mazraoui: Early Man United team news vs Crystal Palace (Premier League)
Manchester United’s early team news is provided as Erik ten Hag’s side prepare for their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
The Reds are returning to Premier League action with confidence after beating Southampton 3-0 and Barnsley 7-0 in their last two fixtures.
Erik ten Hag will hope that his team can continue that form going into a challenging fixture period that includes games against Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, and Aston Villa, as well as Europa League clashes with FC Twente and FC Porto, over the next three weeks.
However, their initial priority will be their trip to Selhurst Park, one of the more difficult away grounds to visit in the Premier League.
Despite Crystal Palace being without a win in their opening four league fixtures, this will not be an easy game for Ten Hag’s men. They lost 4-0 at the South London-based ground last season and will be eager for revenge.
Early Man United team news vs Palace
The United boss will be pleased with his squad’s current position. Many players, including Kobbie Mainoo, got some well-needed rest on Tuesday against Barnsley.
Meanwhile, others in the squad, such as Antony and Christian Eriksen, were able to get on the pitch and gain some confidence during the 7-0 victory.
Manuel Ugarte played around 60 minutes on his Old Trafford debut before he was replaced by Bruno Fernandes. He could be set to make his first start for the club away at Palace.
Another positive from the cup clash was Noussair Mazraoui’s participation. Some feared he would be injured after a knock against Southampton. However, he came on for Diogo Dalot in the second half, showcasing his fitness, and both defenders are expected to start on the weekend.
Regarding players currently unavailable, it seems unlikely that Rasmus Højlund or Luke Shaw are fit for this encounter after Ten Hag ruled them both out of the Carabao Cup win.
The manager will provide an update on those injured players during his pre-match press conference. Mason Mount has returned to first-team training this week but will likely be at least another week away from any action.
Leny Yoro and Tyrell Malacia remain out of action for this game, while Victor Lindelof’s status remains uncertain.
