Kobbie Mainoo predicts Man United starlet will “break the internet”, fans will agree
Kobbie Mainoo has predicted that one other Manchester United starlet will “break the internet” this season, and fans will agree.
Mainoo, 19, was one of United’s best players from when he made his full Premier League debut last season.
He topped off the campaign where he arguably ‘broke the internet’ with his FA Cup final-winning goal against Manchester City.
While Erik ten Hag’s side’s start to the season hasn’t gone smoothly—they have won two of their opening four league games—some players have impressed.
Kobbie Mainoo’s ‘break the internet’ prediction
Kobbie Mainoo predicted that 22-year-old teammate Amad Diallo will ‘break the internet’ this season.
Mainoo claimed that Amad has “so much quality”, and the Ivorian has started the season well, scoring against Brighton and assisting against Southampton.
Several United stars, including Mainoo, were asked to fill in the blanks to questions on the Premier League’s social media channels.
“I think Amad will break the internet,” Mainoo responded when the question was raised during the shoot.
“Do you know what, he’s got so much quality. I think he will go into the season flying.”
Amad is ‘dynamite’ and can be very important
Amad provides the Reds a new option from the right side, with the 22-year-old able to keep possession and link play while also a keen dribbler and knows how to get into the box.
There is a level of maturity in his play that other options do not have and he showed that he was ready for the step up during pre-season this summer.
Amad was United’s best player on the tour of America and earned praise from veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
“He was dynamite,” Heaton told reporters about Amad after a pre-season friendly against Real Betis, where he scored a lovely goal.
“Since I have been here, his ability has been incredible. Now you see more confidence and more belief; he is getting more game time and can see his game coming together.”
