Kobbie Mainoo set Manchester United fans into a frenzy on Thursday evening after he scored a beautiful last-minute winning goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

It was a goal to be proud of as Kobbie Mainoo slotted in a last-gasp winner for Manchester United to climax their 4-3 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Mainoo has been brilliant since his introduction into the XI under Erik ten Hag, showing on the world stage that he is a force to be reckoned with in midfield.

After scoring his first-ever senior goal against Newport County last weekend, the finish against Wolves has created comparisons between him and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham, of course, has been a revelation in Spain, with the English midfielder setting La Liga alight with his goals and performances – and former Chelsea women’s midfielder Karen Carney has explained that Mainoo’s goal reminders her of Bellingham.

“He reminds me a bit of Bellingham, actually,” Carney said on Premier League Productions. “A young player (with presence), got a bit of swag, can step up can get that goal.

“When I saw that finish, I thought, ‘it’s a bit of Bellingham, that’.”

Mainoo has played 12 games for United so far this season after returning from injury in December and has now firmly established himself as one of the club’s best midfielders alongside Bruno Fernandes.
