Manchester United have scored eight goals in their last two games, with Rasmus Højlund playing a significant role since the turn of 2024.

Rasmus Højlund has six goal involvements in his last five fixtures for Manchester United and has become an integral part of Erik ten Hag‘s attacking line, picking up form in the process.

Against Wolves, Ten Hag opted to start Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho either side of Højlund for the Premier League clash, with both Rashford and the 20-year-old Dane scoring in the first half.

Speaking after the game to TNT Sports, Højlund was full of praise for his forward counterparts, saying: “It’s a good chemistry. We are starting to get [together]. I think you can see the relationship with Me, Garna, and Marcus starting to do good.

“Garnacho also had a good pass to me in the second half where I didn’t score, and I had an assist for Rashy today.”

Erik ten Hag himself echoed similar words in the days leading up to the game, alluding to the idea that Rashford, Højlund, and Garnacho make up his best front three.

“So as I said, you see the last two Premier League games, but also I think in the Wigan game, it was clear, and you see the progress between Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Højlund, and, especially now, the team behind in the back is getting stronger and that’s growing,” he told reporters.

“That gives, I think, a good spirit and mood in the team because those two and also see the progress from Garnacho was very positive. We have a frontline, I think it’s a danger and then, in the back, Bruno [Fernandes] and then the midfield, who is returning and getting more established.”
