Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United continue their crusade in all four competitions as they welcome Premier League strugglers, West Ham to Old Trafford in the FA Cup Fifth Round.

Confidence will be sky-high in The Reds’ camp as they finally ended their almost six-year wait for a trophy on Sunday afternoon against Newcastle. West Ham, however, find themselves struggling for form and nervously teetering around the relegation trapdoor.

Here is how the form of both teams looks going into the game:

Manchester United

Last five fixtures: W, D, W, W, W

Manchester United remained undefeated in the month of February. Despite facing eight games in the calendar year’s shortest month, Erik ten Hag‘s side came out unscathed. Since the World Cup, United have only lost one game – away to league leaders Arsenal.

United’s last five games couldn’t have gone much better. Important league wins against Leicester and Leeds, knocking Barcelona out of the Europa League and Erik ten Hag’s first trophy as Manchester United boss.

No doubt the taste of Carabao Cup success will leave everyone at the club wanting more, but with Liverpool to come on Sunday, it’d make sense for quite a bit of rotation for the visit of The Hammers.

West Ham

Last five fixtures: W, D, D, L, W

A stellar season saw West Ham qualify for the UEFA Conference League last year by finishing seventh but it hasn’t been as smooth sailing this time.

David Moyes’ men currently sit just two points above the relegation zone. However, their last five games have given their supporters a little hope. With just one loss in five, which came at the hands of Tottenham, West Ham are hoping to finally have turned a corner as the business end of the season approaches.

Draws against Chelsea and Newcastle and a 4-0 win at the weekend against Nottingham Forest suggests that West Ham will not travel to Old Trafford to lie down. A squad with a clean bill of health and Danny Ings scoring his first goals in the claret and blue of West Ham on Saturday could spell danger for what is likely to be a much-changed United team.
