Manchester United were able to celebrate their first trophy win in five and a half years after they won the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle on Sunday.

The 2-0 victory ended the trophy drought and marked a key point in Erik ten Hag’s career at Old Trafford so far. Though, you can only think it’s the beginning of the journey.

For the fans, the win was sweet but it was being able to see their club celebrate silverware once again which was the finest feeling amongst supporters.

Many players like Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw were experiencing their first trophy win in too long, whilst the likes of Casemiro and Raphael Varane were just adding to a prestigious collection. Yet, the reaction was all the same – jubilation.

Amidst all of the celebrations, we’ve picked up on three of the best moments after the cup victory.

Casemiro’s two sides: killer mentality and joker

Goal scorer. Ball winner. Trophy collector. How better can you describe Casemiro, the midfield warrior? His delicate yet potent header gave United the lead in the final and it was poetic that the born winner had his say in United’s first trophy of the new era under Ten Hag.

Moments after the win, players were celebrating in the proper way. But whilst others were leading the chants with the crowds, Casemiro spared a moment to give Bruno Fernandes some stick.

The Portuguese Magnifico was not so magnificent in the final moments of the game when he had an opportunity to give United a third goal as he broke into open space on the counter.

Unable to release the pass across to Jadon Sancho, who may or may not have strayed offside, Fernandes cut inside and had his own shot saved well by Loris Karius.

The conversation between the two United midfielders – where Casemiro was visibly peeved at the fact Fernandes did not find a pass – was caught on the live cameras, with Scott McTominay in between the two having a giggle.

However, with the mentality that comes with winning five Champions Leagues comes a bubbly and likeable personality.

Later in the celebrations, Casemiro was taking a trophy photo alongside Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, David de Gea and the injured Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen had been key in United’s season up until his ankle injury in January which sees him continue to wear a support boot to join in with the revelry in Wembley.

Whilst posing for a picture together, Casemiro gestured twice at stamping on Eriksen’s injured foot and provided an infectious laugh and smile after the Dane realised his shenanigans.

The dancing trio: Ten Hag, Antony & Martinez

After the full-time whilst came, many of us would’ve been asking the same question, ‘where are the Ten Hag dancing videos?’

The United manager had been recorded dancing alongside Martinez and Antony when the trio had won silverware at Ajax and they had brought their moves from Amsterdam to London.

Seeing the three of them joyful together was a special moment and it will hopefully be something that we start to see on a regular basis at Old Trafford.

A bonus from this came from the exchange between former United captain Roy Keane and the manager. The Irishman, who’s unfamiliar with a smile, joked that Ten Hag should resign after seeing his dance moves, whilst the Dutchman replied, “Never, I hope we can do it more!”

A United Family

After sharing celebrations with the fans in the stands, the players and staff made their way into the dressing room where they continued in a similar vein. Remember, it was back to training in the morning!

A touching moment was shared across social media where the entire United family were together in the changing room singing along to one of the club’s most famous chants. Players and staff together, showing what is beginning to change under the management of Ten Hag.

Despite the quite frankly blank faces on the likes of Marcel Sabitzer and Antony, who would’ve been practising the chant in the mirror later that night, it was a great moment and one that we can hope to see more of going forward.
