Erik ten Hag has seemingly listened to demands from Manchester United fans with a squad decision for the Europa League clash against Fenerbahçe.

The Reds failed to win either of their opening two Europa League fixtures against FC Twente and FC Porto, drawing both games.

That places Erik ten Hag’s side 21st in the new look 36-team league table. Only the top eight clubs move straight into the round-of-16, while those who finish between 9-24 are put into a play-off phase.

Following a solid 2-1 win against Brentford in Premier League action, United will be desperate to record their first European victory of the season this week.

Ten Hag to include Harry Amass in Man Utd squad

According to X user unitedsc0ut, Harry Amass will travel to Turkey with the first-team and be named on the bench for the Europa League clash against Fenerbahçe.

Amass had an excellent pre-season with Erik ten Hag’s squad but is yet to make his first-team debut, with Ten Hag stating that were were still improvements to be made in his game.

Speaking at the beginning of August, the manager said: “He is not that far along now [as Kobbie Mainoo was] at this moment, but if we train him well, if we coach him well, then in three months it’s possible that he can be at that point.

“But in this moment he needs to catch up and he has to develop some of the skills needed to play for Manchester United, when we are competing for the highest position in the league.”

Fan frustration about Amass so far

Despite those comments, many fans have been frustrated that the 17-year-old has not been involved due to the troubles at left-back.

Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have both been injured so far this season and neither of them are closing in on an immediate return.

Diogo Dalot has played the majority of minutes on the left, while Lisandro Martínez has also moved across to that role on two occasions.

The inclusion of Amass in the squad for the European tie this week shows that Ten Hag feels he is moving forward in his development and a debut could be coming soon.

Fans will be delighted, especially if Amass manages to get on the pitch on Thursday, as he really impressed in the summer with his ability on the ball and fierce work-rate.
