Manchester United legend Andy Cole has explained that Casemiro must be facing questions following his recent form at Old Trafford.

Against Nottingham Forest, Casemiro came trumps up as the Manchester United midfielder nodded in the winning goal from Bruno Fernandes‘ low cross.

The victory saw Erik ten Hag lead his men into the FA Cup quarter-finals, where they will next take on Liverpool at Old Trafford in a bid to reach Wembley.

Casemiro recently just emerged off the back of a multiple-month injury that saw him miss two and a half months of football, and despite his clutch winning goal on Wednesday evening, questions are being asked about his form.

This is according to Manchester United legend Andy Cole, who is concerned about the Brazilian.

“You have to be concerned because he was such a big influence last season,” Cole told BetFred. “So if you’re such a big influence one season and then you’re struggling the next, then of course everybody’s going to ask questions.

“In football, you can never rest on your laurels because everybody’s always questioning everything. In his debut season for Manchester United, Casemiro was incredible, and you would have expected the same level of performances from him this season.

“I don’t believe he’s the only Manchester United player whose performances have dipped, but people are questioning Casemiro’s performances because they expect so much more from him.”

Casemiro has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia at the end of the season, with the player having turned 32 years old earlier this year.

INEOS are looking to raise as much money as possible from sales this summer, and with Casemiro’s value only declining, they may look to cash in as a result of this.
