Manchester United or Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool/Southampton: Everything you need to know about FA Cup quarter-final

Manchester United will face Liverpool or Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-final should they win against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Wednesday evening.

United faces up against the Premier League opposition in the fifth round as they look to keep their only chance of silverware alive this season.

Should they be victorious against Forest, a difficult test is expected, with Jurgen Klopp’s men the likely opponents at Old Trafford.

The quarter-final stage is due to be played across the weekend of 16/17 March, and so United will have their Premier League clash against Sheffield United rescheduled should they progress.

United won against Liverpool the last time they faced each other at Old Trafford, with the score ending 2-1 to the home team in Erik ten Hag’s first win for the club.

However, the 7-0 defeat at Anfield later that season still stings. United did, though, manage to draw 0-0 there this term.

The clash between Liverpool and Southampton takes place on Wednesday evening as well.
