Manchester United signed exciting talents Sekou Kone and Samuel Lusale this summer, and they will both start in the youth academy at Carrington.

The Reds completed the first-team signings of Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee and Manuel Ugarte this summer.

These new recruits have strengthened Erik ten Hag’s team considerably, and United’s successful player sales over the summer helped finance their transfer strategy.

INEOS‘ new-look recruitment team were also on the ball in terms of academy signings this summer, with several exciting moves being made.

Sekou Kone has been the most high-profile deal after a £1 million move from his home country, Mali, and he has been settling into his new life in Manchester in recent weeks.

Reports have claimed that Kone will initially start in the Under-21s, with the view that he can push his way into the first team once he is comfortable in his new surroundings.

Meanwhile, Samuel Lusale has signed on a scholarship deal after departing Crystal Palace in the summer.

The 16-year-old winger’s move was delayed due to the Premier League’s ratification progress. Chido Obi-Martin is still undergoing those checks before his move can be made official.

However, with Lusale and Kone in the building, many supporters of the Academy will be wondering when they can finally see the new talents in action.

When Sekou Kone and Samuel Lusale could make youth debuts

With Kone set to join the Under-21s, he would’ve likely played this weekend but they did not have a game.

Instead, his debut for Travis Binnion’s side could come on Saturday, 21 September, when United’s youngsters face Manchester City at home. That game kicks off at 12:00 BST and is unlikely to be televised due to Premier League restrictions.

Following that, the U21s have games against Doncaster’s first team (24 Sep) and Norwich U21 (27 Sep), both of which could be televised on MUTV.

Meanwhile, Lusale is likely to settle into the U18s this season, who are currently unbeaten after wins against Manchester City, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Their next game also comes on 21 September against Middlesbrough’s academy, with the game also unlikely to be televised due to the 12:30 BST kick-off time.

The following Saturday, the U18s face Blackburn U18s, and the 11:00 BST kick-off likely means MUTV will be showing the game.

Lusale is likelier to be phased into the team, with the current U18s side stacked with exciting talents.
