Ruben Amorim will speak to the media soon after the announcement of his Manchester United move on Friday afternoon.

Manchester United have named Ruben Amorim as their new Head Coach following the departure of Erik ten Hag from Old Trafford.

Ten Hag, whose contract was extended by a year over the summer, struggled this season, leaving United in 14th place in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League.

This led to his departure on Monday morning, and the club moved swiftly to bring in Amorim as his replacement.

Amorim is expected to lead his first game after the November international break against Ipswich Town.

When Amorim will speak to the media

Amorim most recently spoke to the media on Thursday afternoon ahead of Sporting’s clash against Estrela Amadora on Friday evening.

He clarified that a decision would be communicated soon and promised that he would speak in more detail about the situation following the full-time whistle.

“At the end of the game I’ll talk about all these issues. Now I want the team to focus and so do I,” the 39-year-old said. “I promise I’ll talk at the end of the game and everything will be clearer.”

Of course, the announcement has come the afternoon before that game, which makes it likely Amorim will be asked about United before kick-off.

However, he is likely to speak in detail for the first time in his post-match press conference and it will likely continue to be a topic over the next couple of weeks.

When he does finally make the move, it would not be surprising to see a press conference conducted at Carrington for the English media to welcome Amroim to the club before he gets to work over the international break.

He will not be in attendance for United’s final game before the international break against Leicester City on 10 November since his final match for Sporting is later that evening.

It has been confirmed that he will travel to England to start his role the following day, but we are going to hear his first official words following the announcement on Friday evening.
