Sir Jim Ratcliffe has finally made two long-awaited Man United changes following Ruben Amorim announcement
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has finally made a long-awaited Manchester United change following the announcement of Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United have appointed Ruben Amorim as their new Head Coach following Erik ten Hag’s departure from Old Trafford.
Despite having his contract extended by a year during the summer, poor performances this season have left United sitting 14th in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League.
This resulted in Ten Hag’s exit from the club on Monday morning, prompting United to act quickly in securing Amorim as his successor.
Amorim is set to oversee his first match with the team after the November international break, facing Ipswich Town.
Ratcliffe’s long-awaited change
Before Ten Hag had agreed to extend his current deal in the summer, on the same terms as beforehand, there were suggestions that a change could have been made in his title.
Instead of being the first-team manager, amid Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s hierarchy adjustments, Ten Hag’s title was rumoured of being changed to ‘head coach’.
That didn’t end up materialising since the Dutch manager simply extended the currently contract he was on.
Now, following the announcement of Ruben Amorim’s arrival as Ten Hag’s replacement, that change has been made.
The club announced that Amorim will become the club’s new head coach. MailSport adds that the change in title is because ‘he is a different profile from previous managers and will fit in well with the club’s football structure’.
It has also been claimed by Ben Jacobs that Amorim will not have a transfer veto, something that Ten Hag had during his during spell at the club.
After making changes to the structure throughout the last few months, Ratcliffe and his INEOS team will be pleased to have finally made these change.
