Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is considering joining the world of Boxing for a fight on a future Misfits card.

Rooney, 38, has reportedly held talks about stepping into the ring for one of the upcoming events on Misfits, a crossover boxing promotion founded by English YouTuber KSI and run by Mams Taylor, Kalle and Nisse Sauerland.

Their big-money events have seen YouTube stars such as KSI and Logan Paul, as well as the likes of Tommy Fury and Joe Fornier.

Now, according to The Mirror, Rooney is weighing up his options following his managerial departure from Birmingham earlier this year. The ex-Premier League striker has previously been in touch with KSI about facing him in the ring, but the possibility now seems like a serious option.

The 38-year-old has held talks in recent weeks in relation to participating in a future event.

However, Rooney is yet to agree terms and discussions are said to still be at an ‘early stage’. It is likely that the United legend would need a considerable amount of cash to make an agreement, due to his earning ability if he was to instead look for a managerial role.

Rooney has always been a boxing fan and took part at his local boxing gym in Liverpool as a child.

His boxing antics even entered the world of football back in 2015 when a viral clip of fellow pro Phil Bardsley knocking him out in a drunken sparring session in his kitchen emerged.

Rooney would then celebrate with a knockout punch after scoring a goal in the game following against Tottenham Hotspur.
