Saudi Arabia want to accelerate deal to sign “outstanding” Manchester United star, Rúben Amorim must make decision soon

Saudi Arabia are accelerating their efforts to sign a Manchester United star, as pressure is put on Rúben Amorim to make a final decision soon.

While Manchester United have struggled in recent years, they continue to have players at the club that attract interest from across Europe and now Saudi Arabia.

Scott McTominay struggled to get a game under Erik ten Hag, but Napoli were desperate to bring him to Italy, and now he is one of the best midfielders in Europe, as he won the Serie A MVP last season.

Even Rasmus Hojlund – who scored just 10 goals last season – attracted interest as soon as Rúben Amorim put him on the transfer list after Benjamin Šeško joined the club.

Now that the transfer window has closed, United must battle off interest from countries whose windows remain open. While some players are already attracting interest for January and next summer.

Fernandes could leave in January

Bruno Fernandes was subject to interest from Saudi Arabia in the summer transfer window, but he stayed at Old Trafford to captain the club in Amorim’s first full season.

Fabrizio Romano reported that Fernandes could leave United next summer as Saudi Arabian clubs retain their interest in the United captain, but they now appear to want to accelerate a deal and sign him in January.

Transfer journalist Graeme Bailey, via TBR Football, has reported that Saudi Arabian clubs could eye a move during the January transfer window.

“At one point in the summer, the Pro League thought Bruno was coming, but they understood his reasoning for staying,” Bailey explained. “It is Amorim’s first full campaign as United boss, so he felt the need, as captain, to stay.

“However, I am told that Fernandes’ situation is far from settled and come the New Year, it is one to keep an eye on when it comes to the Pro League. Fernandes is one of the few players they are prepared to pay good money for.”

Amorim must make final decision soon

If Saudi Arabian clubs reignite their interest in Fernandes in the January transfer window, Amorim will have to make a tough decision. Does he let Fernandes go and sign a replacement? Or does he keep the captain at the club?

If Fernandes leaves United, Jason Wilcox will have the funds to make an offer for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, who could be the man to finally fix Amorim’s midfield.

However, the United captain has become one of Amorim’s most “outstanding” players at Old Trafford, and losing him could see the side drop off and struggle in the Premier League.

It’s a tough call; let’s see if Amorim has to make the final decision sooner or later.
