Omar Berrada lists his four “immediate priorities” as Manchester United CEO
Omar Berrada has listed his four “immediate priorities” as the new chief executive of Manchester United.
Manchester United have undergone significant changes behind the scenes since INEOS took over, but the appointment of Omar Berrada stands out as particularly crucial.
Following the tenures of Ed Woodward and Richard Arnold as CEOs, the club has now secured one of Manchester City’s most esteemed figures.
Together with Dan Ashworth as sporting director and Jason Wilcox as technical director, Berrada will be instrumental in steering a new project at Old Trafford in the upcoming years.
The new CEO has taken his time to address the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust in a letter and explained his main plans in the coming months.
“In terms of my immediate priorities, I will be focusing on the summer transfer windows alongside joining our men’s team’s tour to the US,” Berrada explained.
“I will also be spending time with our women’s team when they are back for pre-season and getting to know colleagues across the club.”
It was explained by The Athletic that Berrada will be joined by Sir Dave Brailsford, Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox in the United States as they get used to working together.
The former Manchester City chief was reportedly crucial in negotiating the Leny Yoro deal earlier this month.
It was stated by The Athletic that the chase for the 18-year-old talent had become an obsession for Berrada, who wanted to beat Real Madrid to the signing and signal a new direction for the Old Trafford club.
Berrada concluded his letter with a focus on fan engagement, writing: “I look forward to meeting with you to share more about my priorities and vision for Manchester United. I am also keen to hear from you – your feedback, ideas and questions.”
