Manchester United fans will love hidden detail in Omar Berrada statement, it’s perfect
Omar Berrada officially started his role as chief executive officer at Manchester United this weekend, having left Manchester City earlier this year.
United have experienced major changes behind the scenes since INEOS took charge, but the appointment of Omar Berrada might be the most important one.
After having Ed Woodward and Richard Arnold as prior CEOs, the club have now pinched one of Manchester City’s most valued men.
Alongside the likes of Dan Ashworth as sporting director and Jason Wilcox as technical director, Berrada will help lead a new project at Old Trafford in the coming years.
Berrada sent a letter to the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust on Saturday, with the new chief detailing various interesting points within.
However, many fans will be fond of Berrada’s comments on United’s worldwide reach and the club’s history, which United supporters often tease their City rivals about.
“It is my huge privilege to have been given the opportunity to lead this great club into its next chapter,” Berrada wrote.
“Wherever you are in the world, people know Manchester United. The football, the history and the success, and most of all, our fans.”
Berrada further explained that he would be joining the men’s first team on their pre-season tour in the United States and focusing on the transfer market as an immediate priority.
The new chief then revealed that he will be spending time with the women’s team when they return for pre-season, as well as getting familiar with his colleagues across the club.
