Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly willing to offer a lifeline to one of his former players at Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær spent three years as manager of Manchester United before he was eventually sacked during the 2021/22 campaign.
After spending several years out of the game, the Norwegian returned to management last season as he took over the struggling Besiktas.
The Turkish outfit have undergone some major changes behind the scenes and ended the season strongly under the former United boss.
Now, Solskjær is reportedly eyeing a deal for former United fullback Brandon Williams this summer
Solskjær willing to offer lifeline to forgotten United starlet
Williams broke through at United under Solskjær, who is considering giving a ‘lifeline’ to the 24-year-old after he received a suspended jail sentence for reckless driving.
In August 2023, the defender was driving his Audi A3 at dangerously high speeds near Handforth, Cheshire, when he collided with a Ford Fiesta and eventually crashed into the central reservation.
After being at Old Trafford since the age of eight, Williams left the club at the end of his contract in 2024 and has since not been able to find a club, but is keen to return to the game this coming season.
According to recent reports from MailSport, the former United defender has emerged as an option for Solskjær at Besiktas this summer.

Solskjær critical of United exit
Solskjær also made his feelings clear about another United Academy graduate recently when speaking in an interview with the BBC.
The Besiktas boss slammed his former club’s decision to sell Scott McTominay last summer, claiming that you could rely on the Scotsman to give his all for the shirt.
“Scott and Fred together, they were lads you would put your hat on every day to give 100%,” Solskjaer stated back in May. “How you can sell Scott is beyond me.”
McTominay won the Serie A title with Napoli last season and was awarded the Player of the Year across the Italian division.
The 28-year-old midfielder played 115 times under Solskjær at United and was one of the 52-year-old’s most trusted players during his time in charge.
